A place of peace in the Heart of the Dales
Nestled in the tiny village of Hardraw, just outside Hawes in Upper Wensleydale, St Mary & St John is a peaceful country church with a surprisingly rich story. St Mary & St John Church stands in the hamlet of Hardraw, just north of Hawes in Upper Wensleydale, North Yorkshire. It’s a short walk from the famous Hardraw Force waterfall and close to popular walking routes in the Dales.
This is a place where centuries of local faith, the drama of the Dales landscape, and even a touch of television fame all meet under one stone-flagged roof. Whether you come as a worshipper, a walker, or a curious visitor, St Mary & St John offers a quiet space to pause and reflect in the stillness of the Dales.
